Privacy Policy
Overview
Rules Hammer is designed with privacy in mind. We collect minimal data and will never sell or share your personal information with third parties.
Accounts & Email
You may optionally create an account using your email address. Your email is used solely for account management (sign-in, password resets, email confirmation). We will never sell, rent, or share your email address with third parties.
You can delete your account at any time from your account page, which permanently removes your email and all associated data from our systems.
Conversations
When you submit a question, it is sent to our server and forwarded to the OpenAI API to generate a response. Both signed-in and anonymous conversations are stored server-side. If you are signed in, conversations persist across sessions and devices. Anonymous conversations are tied to your browser session and are automatically deleted after 30 days.
You can delete individual conversations at any time, or delete your account to remove all associated data.
Conversation Sharing
Signed-in users can generate shareable links for their conversations. Shared links are publicly accessible to anyone with the URL and expire after 30 days. We recommend not sharing conversations containing sensitive information.
Feedback
When you submit feedback (thumbs up/down) on an answer, we store the question, answer, and your sentiment rating. Your IP address is recorded for abuse prevention purposes. Feedback does not include your email or account information.
Cookies
Rules Hammer uses cookies strictly for session management (keeping you signed in). We do not use cookies for advertising, analytics, or tracking of any kind. A small amount of UI state (e.g. sidebar preference) is stored in your browser's localStorage.
Server Logs & Error Tracking
Standard server logs (IP addresses, timestamps, request paths) are retained temporarily for operational and debugging purposes. These logs are not used for tracking or analytics.
We use Sentry for error tracking and performance monitoring. When an error occurs, Sentry may receive stack traces and request context. Sentry does not receive your email, conversation content, or account information.
Third-Party Services
Rules Hammer uses the following third-party services:
- OpenAI API — Your questions and conversation history are sent to OpenAI to generate responses. No account information (email, etc.) is included. See OpenAI's Privacy Policy.
- Resend — Delivers transactional emails (account confirmation, password resets). Only your email address is shared. See Resend's Privacy Policy.
- Sentry — Error tracking and performance monitoring. Receives error context only, not user content or PII.
- Cloudflare — Provides DNS, CDN, and access control for admin areas. See Cloudflare's Privacy Policy.
Data Retention
- Signed-in conversations are kept until you delete them or your account.
- Anonymous conversations are automatically deleted after 30 days.
- Deleted conversations are purged from our database within 7 days.
- Shared conversation links expire after 30 days.
Children's Privacy
Rules Hammer is not intended for children under the age of 13. By creating an account, you confirm that you are at least 13 years old. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Changes
This policy may be updated from time to time. You can check this page periodically for updates.
